How to delete or empty Trash files in Android phones

 This is very important to a Android user or stock Android phone user to know the simple steps to delete the file which are lying in the Trash folder, these are mostly photos and videos which are not permanently deleted when we delete it from the phone.

This is a kind of feature in stock Android phones which help us in recover the important photos and videos which are deleted accidentally or by kids.

 

Below are some of the easy steps to remove or delete files permanently which are lying in the Trash folder.

Please note that once you delete files from the trash, they will be permanently removed from your device and cannot be recovered.

 

Deleting files from Trash using Google photos app
  1. Open the "Google photos" app on your phone.
  2. Select "Library" tab.
  3. Navigate to the "Trash" folder on the upper right side.
  4. Open it, you will get select option on the upper right side.
  5. Click on it you will then have to select the files which you need to delete it permanently.
  6. Then click on "delete" option to delete it.
  7. There is one more option in the Trash folder while it is open, click on three dots on the upper right side.
  8. Select "Empty trash" option it will ask you to delete all the files which are lying in it, it you press "permanently delete" it will remove the files. 
  9. There one more feature that the files which are lying in the trash will get automatically deleted after 30 days.

 

Deleting files from Trash using "Files" app

  1. Open the "Files" app on your android phone.
  2. If you don't have the "Files" app then it can be downloaded from Google Playstore.
  3. Once the app is open, click on three lines on the upper left side.
  4. Navigate to the "Trash" folder.
  5. You can select the files by selecting "All items" option.
  6. Select the "Delete" option, it will then delete all files lying in the folder.
